For nearly six decades, a deeply personal piece of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley’s history remained safely within one family. Now, for the first time, that private connection is about to become public.
In 1967, Elvis and Priscilla Presley married in a remarkably secretive ceremony at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Priscilla later remembered the journey to the wedding as something resembling “hide and go seek,” with carefully planned travel arrangements and only a small circle of people aware of what was happening. The ceremony itself lasted just eight minutes and was attended by only 14 close friends and family members before the couple faced the press.
But among those closest to the newlyweds were Priscilla’s parents, Joseph and Ann Beaulieu. Their relationship with Elvis had not always been easy. When Priscilla was still a teenager, her parents were deeply concerned about her connection with the superstar, who was ten years older and already one of the most famous entertainers in the world.
Yet Elvis gradually earned their trust. He maintained regular contact with Priscilla, called her frequently, sent her records, and eventually encouraged her to visit Graceland. Over time, the Presley and Beaulieu families became connected in ways that would leave behind remarkable personal memories.
One of those memories is now heading to auction.
According to Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen, the Beaulieu family is offering a wedding album containing 30 original black-and-white photographs from Elvis and Priscilla’s May 1, 1967 wedding. The album was presented to Joseph and Ann Beaulieu as a personal wedding memento. Only around ten copies of this special album are believed to have been given as personal gifts.
Stamped in gold on the cover are the words: “Priscilla and Elvis Presley, May 1st, ’67. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beaulieu, from the Colonel.” The reference is to Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis’s legendary manager.
But the album contains an even more intimate surprise.
Alongside the wedding photographs are three private color photographs taken at Graceland in the summer of 1968, only months after the birth of Lisa Marie Presley. The images capture Elvis and Priscilla with their infant daughter during a much quieter chapter of their lives.
