In 1963, Anka married Anne Dibb, a young model who gave up her promising European modeling career after falling in love with him. Together, they raised five daughters. Anne became the center of the household while Paul spent enormous amounts of time on the road. Anka later acknowledged that he was traveling roughly 200 days a year.
For decades, Anne carried the family while Anka pursued his career.
Their marriage eventually collapsed. Anka filed for divorce in 1994, and after years of separation, the divorce was finalized in 2000. Anne never remarried. She devoted herself to her daughters and to the art world, building an impressive collection before her death in 2017.
